Hello Salve (Salt Veh pronounced) is a good formal Hello. Get with this person. Buongiorno (Jorn bwon pronounced) is another good Hi, this is called "good day".
Goodbye: One can say it once or Arrivederci volley.

(Pronunciation Aree vehd air-chi). If the person is a friend, you can say the occasional Ciao, for both Hello and goodbye. (Pronounced chow)

How are you? Come Sta (co-MEH STA) for a formal relationship, come stai informal relationships. (c ko-meh-eye) ... If you ask, I always say bene, grazie (grats beh neh-eh-ye), and that means, thank you.

I can not speak much Italian: Non parlo italiano.

Please per favore (please eh)

Thank you: Grazie (grats-ye-EH)

You're welcome: Prego (like salsa)

Forgiveness: Scusa. (scuze)
