California are two plates, one front and one behind. the only thing you can do is your property get in touch novilty positive or negative.
I think doing the same for my BMW and more recently to examine the legal issues was. Is it legal to put on the front in almost every state. It is illegal to introduce on their backs in the state, growing every day.
